Base coat and Clear coat application in cut-ins and engine compartment

For Waterborne base coat, internal charge electrostatic Accubell® 709 Evo is reaching the higher performance : fast application, high transfer efficiency, wide booth conditions for a robust application.
For 1K or 2K clear coat, the PPH 707 2K is able to give your the best finishing you can expect from a robust electrostatic rotary atomizer.

Description

Accubell is a complete robotic solution including the sprayer, the color changer, the automatic cleaner.
The patented Accubell® 709 Evo is using 2 canisters system in series:
  • one inside the sprayer hold by the robot,
  • the second is in the docking station fixed to the booth wall.
While the 1st is painting, the 2nd canister prepares the paint for next car, to be ready to transfer in less than 5 seconds.

Each canister works with an accurate servomotor which is dosing the paint flow at +/-1cc error only. With its internal high voltage cascade, the efficiency of the sprayer reachs highest values for any types of plastic or metallics parts to paint.
The compactness of Accubell makes this sprayer able to paint exteriors, interiors or plastics.

Interior body painting FAQ

Let's get in touch
  • How to prevent contmationation on atomizer during interior cut-ins application?

The contamination issue of atomizers is a crucial problem to solve in order to keep a production tool efficient and a good quality of cars.
We can think about a regular cleaning in the automatic cleaning device (BAC), but let's work at the source of the issue : reducing the overspray.
To reduce the paint flying around, let's improve the transfer efficiency : our latest Great Transfer Efficiency (GTE) bell systems improve at least by 10% the transfert efficiency. A balanced velocity of the ventilation air in the booth is also a must to prevent the remaining particules to pollute your atomizer, robot, booth and car.

  • What are the benefits of using electrostatic in interior cut-ins paint application?

At Sames lab, we experimented extensive trials on interior cut-ins with many spraying technologies : flat spray guns, round spray guns, no EST rotary bell sprayers, and of course electrostatic rotary bell sprayers for both waterborne and solventborne paints.
The benefits of electrostatic for interior cut-ins are :
    - time saving: the electrostatic effect is both increasing the transfer efficiency and covering more thanks to the wrapping effect from electric field;
    - safe process: the position of the door is difficult to secure on a production line, but it can be compensated by the electrostatic force deviating the wrong position of the door compared to the sprayer. We saw an effective compensation for more than 1cm door gap position!

  • Which bell cup I should use for interior cut-ins?

Since 2020, the bell system Narrow Wide (NW) is considered as the best choice for interior cut-ins, door enclosures, engine compartment.
The EC43 NW is able to adapt the brush size from 90mm width to 250mm, which gives a flexibility to adapt the brush to the size of the target. The consequence is less paint waste, less overspray polluting the booth, the robot, the sprayer and the filters, and more effective working time.
An automatic cleaner is also important for production capability and quality on cars. The BAC cleaners are fast, low solvent consumption and easy maintenance for a robust paint process.
