JOB PURPOSE: In-house operations assistant - warehouse utility worker of inventory, shipping and receiving items
Job Purpose
In-house operations assistant - warehouse utility worker of inventory, shipping and receiving items
Duties and Responsibilities
- Pulling, filling, packing, and setting up orders for delivery or pickup
- Maintain the ability to determine the status of an order at any given time
- Follow any special instructions pertaining to an individual order
- Receive shipments, log into inventory, pick all pops, and maintain inventory through audits
- Handles domestic and international shipping, ensures proper packaging, and manages supply orders
- Report any quality or inventory discrepancy issues to the appropriate person
- Communicate positively with supervisors, sales staff, fellow workers, and customers to coordinate deliveries/pick-up and process returns accurately
- Assist in keeping the facility clean, neat, safe, and operating efficiently
- Follow all established policies and safety guidelines
- Assist in keeping the facility secure and follow company policies and procedures
- Maintain proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required
- Present a neat and professional image and other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understands basic inventory, warehouse, and stocking procedures
- Competent written and verbal English communication skills
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Comfortable in fast-paced environment
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to work independently with some direction
- Capable of following written instructions and documented procedures
- Ability to multitask by handling multiple assignments, both routine and urgent
Formal Education and/or Training Required
- High school diploma or GED
Working Environment and Physical Requirements
- Stand/walk on concrete floor for duration of work hours
- Lift/carry/maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
- Warehouse environment with temperature variations
- Exposure to some hazardous chemicals (paint, solvents)
