Job Purpose

Provide technical finishing and sales expertise along with the pursuit of industrial focused sales and business development opportunities within your region. Through a combination of relationship building/management, in-person/remote sales support, and market development activities, this position will drive sales growth of our finishing products. These opportunities include new product field introduction, technical sales support, training and development of our industrial partners, key end-user focus, and new product development. This is accomplished by working together with our dynamic sales team, existing Sames distributors and integrators, robot manufacturers, and material suppliers, dovetailing their requirements with Sames business policies to maximize sales, job content, and profitability. The Regional Manager may also be called upon to periodically interact with our Regional counterparts to promote sales, new products, new product development, and personnel development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must develop a plan to work with each of the distributors in your region. This plan will have to be developed per distributor and it will depend on the size of the account – % of regional total sales.
  • Must develop key relationships with all distributor staff including management
  • Develop Industry Partner Relationships (i.e., paint, powder and dispense manufacturers, integrators etc.)
  • Informal training on new and existing Sames products to distribution partners.
  • Promote all Sames products
  • Assist in proposal and equipment design specification
  • Assist distribution with installation supervision
  • Monitor monthly numbers per distributor by Capital vs. Spares and by product category – adjust support as necessary
  • Advise the service staff when technical issues arise, or additional specific product support may be required
  • Maintain calls, customer visits, and opportunities in the Sames CRM system
  • Performance Measurables may include:

➢ Increased market share per region
➢ Promote New products
➢ Overall increase in business within region
➢ Promote Sames Standard solution/System business with integrator partners and direct.

  • Responsible for keeping all contacts, quotes, opportunities, and activities current in the CRM.

➢ Technical and or commercial issues
➢ Attend all trade shows and sales meetings as required

Profile

Qualifications

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Experience with industrial finishing equipment
  • Significant experience interacting with customers and/or distributors
  • Other Qualifications include:
    o Technical/mechanical aptitude: ability to quickly attain Sames product knowledge
    o Ability to travel locally and occasional non-local travel by car, plane, and other transport.
    o Valid driver’s license and insurance; ability to operate a motor vehicle
    o Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint desired.
    o High level of emotional intelligence: self-aware, self-motivated, self-control. Holds oneself accountable for actions and results.
    o Strong customer focus. Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills; able to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and all levels of staff
    o Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
    o Meticulous, motivated, organized, attention to detail
    o Ability to take calculated risks
    o Excellent response time and sense of urgency
    o Self-starting

Desired Skills or Experience:

  • Technical understanding of Sames product line or similar equipment
  • Exposure to automation and production environments
  • Knowledge of the quotation process
  • Knowledge of industry vendors

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Extensive local travel; occasional non-local travel; visits to automotive plants/facilities; some time in an office setting. Requires following physical abilities:

  • Sitting in car for long periods; air travel. May require occasional travel outside the U.S.
  • May require extended walking (through factories, airports, etc.)
  • May be exposed to solvents, paints, and some hazardous materials
  • Able to pick up and carry products of moderate weight
  • PPE required. May be exposed to solvents, paints, and some hazardous materials.
